There were some reports last week that WhatsApp will be pulling its support from a number of OS builds soon. These operating systems will include those that are not heavily used these day such as the older versions of Android, Nokia S40, Windows Phone 7.1, Symbian S60, BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10.
However, this is not expected to happen until the end of the year 2016 but BlackBerry is still trying to come up with a replacement to the popular messaging app. BlackBerry says that the support for BlackBerry 10 will remain there and they are finding out alternatives for their users once the support for WhatsApp messenger for BBOS and BlackBerry 10 lasts in the late 2016.
A couple of tweets were sent out by the Canadian giant last year revealing that they are working on other options for WhatsApp. There was a tweet which also pointed out that the Android powered BlackBerry Priv will support WhatsApp and it recommends the users who are losing WhatsApp to turn to its cross platform BBM messenger.
