Samsung has finally launched its new Galaxy Note 7 phone, to help the Korean giant go deeper with its venture in several markets. The new Note 7 has been provided with a 5.7 inch display and is IP68 certified, which makes it dustproof. This smartphone is tough and waterproofed at the same time and can go beyond 1m for depth.
It has a metal frame sandwiched between two symmetrically curved sheets of Gorilla Glass 5. Samsung has used Blue Coral color option for metal and accents in gold, the rest phone has been provided with blue color. Samsung note 7 is sported with an amazing 5.7 Super AMOLED screen but it has been curved on both sides like an edge phone. This smartphone has QHD resolution but is the first ever mobile displays to feature HDR support. It is one feature borrowed from 4K TV that allows the screen to show more colors and scenes with high contrast.
Samsung new Galaxy Note 7 has S Pen which promises to deliver pen-like experience. It has a stylus which can leave notes on the Always on Screen and can also write underwater. Some other features of this smartphone include a text magnifying glass, a GIF creator and a translate tool.
The note 7 is made more secure with an iris scanner added to its arsenal of biometric sensors. Soon, this smartphone will be able to replace the fingerprint scanner in order to secure Samsung Pay, Knox and your personal files. You still have an option to use the fingerprint reader.
Samsung has used USB Type C port on this smartphone for the first time ever, and supports On The Go and quick charging. There is a wireless quick charging available, to fill the 3,500 mAh battery, which though is 1,000 mAh smaller than the Samsung S7 Edge phone.
The Galaxy Note 7 is a powerful handset and sports Snapdragon 820 chipset or an Exynos 8890 chip. It has an internal storage of 64G and 4GB RAM, which proved the rumor revealing 6GB RAM to be wrong. There is a 12MP dual pixel camera, which features a bright f/1.7 aperture and OIS. This camera is capable of recording video with 2,160 pixels resolution. Samsung has packed this smartphone with a 5MP front facing camera, for clicking selfie images of good quality.
Samsung has also provided its Galaxy Note 7 phone with a microSD slot but it doesn’t support UFS cards. Currently, there is no word on 128GB variant of this handset. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is a bit awkward because Android 7.0 Nougat is still to be launched soon.
It is reported that Samsung’s Galaxy note 7 will go on pre-order from today only and will be officially available on sale by this mid of this month only. All the major carriers will offer this smartphone. Unlike the Galaxy S7, the Note 7 will come with a free Gear VR, but for a limited time period. You can also score a free Gear Fit 2 smart band or a 256 GB microSD card.
