Samsung has experienced an unexpected success with its Tizen OS. The reason for its success is believed to be the limited edition of devices available running on this particular mobile operating system. We know it clearly that Tizen OS is basically aimed at the emerging markets. Some of the users might feel that Samsung is going slow with its Tizen platform, but we will definitely find a number of entry-level and mid-range smartphones in the coming months.
Currently, Samsung is planning to launch its next-generation Tizen-powered phone, Z2, by this month end. The Korean giant is expected to officially launch this smartphone on 23rd August. This smartphone might make its debut in Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
However, we also spotted an advanced Tizen powered smartphone from Samsung at the import-export website Zauba. This phone is codenamed SM-Z930F but will be launched in the market with name Samsung Z9. It is reported that this unnamed Samsung Z2 phone will sport a 4 inch AMOLED display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution.
Samsung has provided it with a 5 MP primary camera for clicking better quality images even in low light conditions. This smartphone has been powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz speed and 1GB RAM for faster processing speed. There is an internal storage of 8GB which can further be expanded with the help of microSD slot.
As we know, Samsung is going to price Z9 handset higher, so this handset should bring better specifications such as a large display, more powerful processor and an improved camera. We can expect the Z9 phone to be announced along with the Samsung Z2 phone on 23rd August. However, there is a chance that the Korean giant focuses the European markets for this handset.
