Some images of BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition have leaked out showing the phone running on the new Android 5.1. According to the reports, these photographs are of a prototype of Passport being developed by the company. We can expect a version of this handset running on the Google’s open source operating system by second quarter of 2016. This device will be named as BlackBerry Passport 2 by the maker.
However, there is a huge caveat. There are rumors which say that BlackBerry will release its Passport flavored with the Android OS only if BlackBerry Venice rings some respectable numbers. Venice is a slider which has already leaked with an android on board and is expected to get released in November.
